Igniting Curiosity, Rooting Excellence
Kindergarten
Franklin Academy offers a private kindergarten program in Irvine, Orange County, CA, designed to give young learners a joyful and academically strong start. Kindergarten is the bridge between home and formal education, and we believe this year is a critical window for building confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Through trilingual immersion in English, Mandarin, and Spanish, students develop early literacy, foundational math skills, social-emotional confidence, and a natural joy for discovery. Our Kindergarten program prepares children to thrive in the classroom and continue confidently into Franklin Academy’s K-12 academic pathway.
Fluency Without Borders
In our private Kindergarten, we don’t just “teach” languages; we live in them.
🇪🇸 Spanish Immersion: Learning Through Play
Our Spanish curriculum follows the principles of natural acquisition. We believe that at this age, discovery should be joyful.
Contextual Learning:
Real-World Outcomes:
By the end of the year, students master the Spanish alphabet, colors, shapes, and food vocabulary. More importantly, they develop the confidence to understand classroom directions and communicate in real-life social situations.
🇺🇸 English Literacy: The Saxon Phonics Foundation
We provide a warm yet structured entry into the world of reading using the Saxon Phonics method.
Hands-on Tools:
From Sounds to Sentences:
🇨🇳 Mandarin Chinese: Cultivating Global Roots
Through dedicated daily Mandarin blocks, students are introduced to the tones and structures of the Chinese language, fostering an early appreciation for the beauty of Mandarin through song and cultural activities.
Little Scientists, Big Ideas
At Franklin Academy, we believe that children are natural scientists. Our 50-minute daily Math and Science blocks are designed to keep that wonder alive.
Concrete Mathematics: We use hands-on manipulatives to help children visualize numbers and patterns. Instead of abstract formulas, we focus on the “why” behind the count.
Guided Discovery: In science, we encourage students to observe, touch, and ask questions about the natural world. This inquiry-based approach builds the critical thinking habits that will later support our elite Middle and High School research programs.
A Balanced Rhythm for Young Learners
Our schedule is intentionally designed to respect the developmental needs of five- and six-year-olds, alternating between high-engagement learning and essential “recharge” periods.
