Lab on a Chip
Lab on a Chip
Dive into the Future of Transportation
Designed for academically motivated students entering Grades 9–11, the Lab on a Chip Summer School offers early exposure to interdisciplinary engineering within a university-affiliated setting. In collaboration with the UC Irvine School of Engineering, this program bridges foundational STEM learning with early exposure to university-level engineering concepts. Through guided design exercises and structured project work, participants explore how biology, chemistry, materials science, and micro-scale systems integrate in modern engineering applications.
Hands-On Lab on Chip Design
Participants work in structured teams to explore how micro-scale laboratory functions can be integrated into compact chip systems. Guided activities introduce design logic, materials considerations, and introductory CAD-based modeling concepts relevant to Lab on Chip development.
University-Level Engineering Framework
The curriculum introduces foundational engineering design principles commonly used in university coursework. Students learn structured problem-solving methods and interdisciplinary thinking that connect mathematics, chemistry, and materials science within applied systems.
